READING, Pa. (AP) _ EnerSys (ENS) on Wednesday reported fiscal third-quarter net income of $48.4 million, after reporting a loss in the same period a year earlier.
On a per-share basis, the Reading, Pennsylvania-based company said it had profit of $1.12. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, were $1.17 per share.
The maker of industrial batteries posted revenue of $680 million in the period.
EnerSys shares have risen 14 percent since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Wednesday, shares hit $88.76, a climb of 34 percent in the last 12 months.
