Enphase Unveils New Home Energy Management System

Global energy technology company Enphase Energy, Inc. ENPH launched the next-generation energy management system, Envoy-S, which is expected to make installation cheaper and faster for users and fetch better options for solar PV customers.

The Enphase Energy Management System is an integrated scalable platform for solar generation, control, energy management and storage, which will be controlled by the next-generation Envoy-S gateway.

Envoy-S will provide better understanding of energy usage, remote update capabilities and load management. It offers consumption monitoring, revenue-grade metering, integrated Wi-Fi and flexible networking options, and optional AT&T cellular connectivity via the Internet provider’s Internet of Things (“IoT”) technology and is designed to be compatible with all Enphase microinverters.

According to the company, the new hardware reduces interconnection and equipment costs by 20%, and ensures faster installation.

Envoy-S will be used first as the integration between a battery and the solar PV system. It will be introduced in Australia in early 2016 and in North America by 2016-end.

For years, Enphase has been working on expanding its capacity beyond microinverters. It has now successfully built relationships with home energy management companies such as Nexia and Nest. Launch of the Envoy-S energy management system will strengthen the company’s foothold and drive growth, going forward.
