BILLERICA, Mass. (AP) _ Entegris Inc. (ENTG) on Thursday reported first-quarter earnings of $32.7 million.
The Billerica, Massachusetts-based company said it had net income of 24 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, were 50 cents per share.
The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 47 cents per share.
The maker of equipment used in chip manufacturing posted revenue of $391 million in the period, which did not meet Street forecasts. Four analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $401.4 million.
For the current quarter ending in July, Entegris expects its per-share earnings to range from 40 cents to 45 cents.
The company said it expects revenue in the range of $375 million to $390 million for the fiscal second quarter.
Entegris shares have increased 46 percent since the beginning of the year. The stock has increased 23 percent in the last 12 months.
