CLAYTON, Mo. (AP) _ Enterprise Financial Services Corp. (EFSC) on Monday reported fourth-quarter earnings of $23.5 million.

The Clayton, Missouri-based bank said it had earnings of $1.02 per share. Earnings, adjusted for costs related to mergers and acquisitions, were $1.06 per share.

The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 95 cents per share.

The financial holding company posted revenue of $74.7 million in the period. Its revenue net of interest expense was $61.3 million, also exceeding Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $59.4 million.

For the year, the company reported profit of $89.2 million, or $3.83 per share. Revenue was reported as $230.3 million.

Enterprise Financial Services shares have increased 10 percent since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Monday, shares hit $41.43, a decrease of 13 percent in the last 12 months.
