The wood furniture company expanded its warehouse space in Singapore, launched in China in early 2015 and announced a new line of oak furniture this April.
Singapore / ACCESSWIRE / May 2, 2015 / Ethnicraft Online Singapore, Singapore’s first online furniture store, is pleased to announce further expansion into the Asian region. The company expanded into Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in the fourth quarter 2013 and started operations in Shanghai, China earlier in 2015. To maximize product availability, it has also obtained additional warehouse space.
“On the heels of our success in Singapore, we are proud to bring our unique line of handmade furniture into Malaysia and China. We anticipate that customers in those regions will be equally receptive to the superior quality and customer service that we have become known for,” said Ethnicraft Online's Marketing Director, Katrien Bollen.
Ethnicraft Online was founded in 2012 as the B2C concept of Ethnicraft. Ethnicraft has been producing wooden furniture for almost 20 years. It is headquartered in Belgium and has sales offices in Belgium, France, Singapore, Indonesia and Hong Kong; and manages four production facilities with more than 2,000 employees in Indonesia, Vietnam and Serbia. Offering a range of high-quality handmade furniture for the bedroom, living room, dining room, kitchen and home office, the company’s products are distributed by 1,200 furniture retailers in more than 50 countries around the world.
In Singapore, customers can experience the design and quality of Ethnicraft’s products in their 3,000-plus square feet showroom, which is open daily from 10am to 7pm, even on public holidays. Visits are by appointment only to ensure customers receive the quality service and personalised attention they require.
In April, Ethnicraft Online began to market oak furniture, complementing its teak furniture line. Ethnicraft uses reclaimed and plantation teak wood from Java, Indonesia. Teak's natural attributes – its high oil content, strength and durability – make it an exceptional choice for furniture. Items made from teak repel moisture and last for many years, giving the furniture a timeless quality.
"Oak’s durability and look made it a natural choice to add to our line of furniture products," Bollen added.
Because the retailer is dedicated to delivering quality products, superior customer service and convenient shopping, the company follows its 10 Services motto, which among principles, includes a lifetime warranty for all solid teak furniture and complimentary delivery and installation services.
The company prides itself on its commitment to sustainability, ensuring that all aspects of the product cycle—from sourcing and production to distribution—follow the latest in “green practices” to maximize energy efficiency and reduce waste.
In addition, all collections feature a label with a unique Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) number stating that the products are made from 100 percent FSC-certified wood. FSC is a worldwide independent, non-governmental, non-profit organization that promotes the responsible management of the world’s forests. Products that carry the FSC label are made from wood harvested from forests that are managed in a socially, economically and ecologically responsible manner. The goal of FSC is to ensure that forest management techniques not only meet present needs, but also meet the needs of the future. These technique are designed to ensure that forests maintain their biodiversity and reap financial profit, but not at the expense of their long-term viability.
