The royal wedding dominated social media Saturday, with Kim Kardashian, Sarah Jessica Parker, and other stars posting about Meghan Markle and Prince Harry‘s special day.

Rocker Billy Idol also chimed in with an observation about the events taking place at St. George’s Chapel. Unfortunately, the man famous for singing the 1982 hit “White Wedding” couldn’t quite seem to get the wording right.

While Idol’s sentiment may have been sweet, his fans felt like this was a missed opportunity to trot out his most famous lyric: “It’s a nice day for a white wedding.”

Twitter users couldn’t resist poking fun at the oversight.

It took some prompting, but Idol eventually got there.

The musician also shared actress Zoe Lister-Jones’s updated royal wedding version of “White Wedding.”

Think it made the reception playlist?
