Love is in the air. Jennifer Lawrence and husband Cooke Maroney are officially married, and all eyes are on the happy couple as they step into the next phase of their relationship.

While Mr. and Mrs. Maroney were first publicly spotted in June 2018, the duo has managed to keep the details of their relationship out of the public eye. They confirmed their engagement in February 2019, with information slowly leaking about their glamorous engagement party and their low-key wedding vision. Ahead of the couple celebrating their marriage with loved ones, fans of the Oscar winner are asking: Who is Cooke Maroney, exactly?

Below, we’ve rounded up everything there is to know about Jennifer Lawrence’s husband. Be sure to check back for the latest details on the couple’s wedding weekend.

He’s an Art Gallerist

Maroney serves as the director of New York’s Gladstone Gallery, a high-profile institution with clients including Lena Dunham’s father. “He’s definitely respected,” a source told The Cut. “He understands what good art is… I think he really has solid taste in art and he’s a very good art dealer, and I expect a fruitful career out of him.”

Before landing his current role, Page Six reports that he worked at the famed Gagosian art gallery.

He Studied at New York University

After completing high school in Vermont, Maroney went on to study art history at New York University.

Maroney stayed in New York after he graduated from college, and he’s now seen as a respected, prominent figure in the art social scene. Page Six reported that the art dealer is “known to be seen at high-end art openings around town.”

He Met Jennifer Through Mutual Friends

Lawrence and Maroney were reportedly introduced by a mutual friend, Laura Simpson, in early 2018. “They have been very private and careful not to be seen together,” a source told Page Six.

Lawrence Knew She Wanted to Marry Him Immediately

Despite their efforts to keep their relationship out of the public eye, Lawrence opened up about wedding planning in an episode of Catt Sadler’s Naked with Catt Sadler podcast. “I definitely wasn’t at a place where I was like, ‘I’m ready to get married,'” she said of her single days. “I just met Cooke and I wanted to marry him. We wanted to marry each other. We wanted to commit fully.”

She continued, “He’s my best friend so I want to legally bind him to me forever. And fortunately the paperwork exists for such a thing. It’s the greatest. You find your favorite person in the planet and you’re like you can’t leave. So I wanted to take that offer.”

In another rare interview in June 2019, Lawrence told Entertainment Tonight how she knew Maroney was her person. “Well, he’s just the best person I’ve ever met in my whole life,” she said. “It was a very, very easy decision.”
