FREMONT, Calif. (AP) -- Chip maker Exar Corp. said Monday that it will transfer its stock listing to the New York Stock Exchange from the Nasdaq as it works to "maximize shareholder value."
Exar expects to start trading on the NYSE under its current ticker symbol, "EXAR," on July 29.
"The NYSE is home to many of the world's most well-established and successful companies. We believe it provides the ideal trading platform and unparalleled exposure to the global investment community," the company said in a statement.
Its shares finished at $12.21 per share after hitting a 52-week high of $12.24 during Friday's session. They traded as low as low as $7.26 last July.
