Exclusive: What Servant's Rupert Grint really thought of the doll on set

From Digital Spy

It sounds like Harry Potter star Rupert Grint could have used a protection spell on the set of his new series Servant.

The latest terrifying offering from Glass director M. Night Shyamalan is earning rave reviews for its chilling tale of grief and obsession set within a family trying to overcome the loss of a child.

Grint stars as the brother of a chef (Black Mirror's Toby Kebbell) who has hired a nanny (Game of Thrones' Nell Tiger Free) to care for a reborn doll that he and his reporter wife (Torchwood's Lauren Ambrose) are treating as if it is their deceased child.

While speaking to Digital Spy about the grim plot, Grint admitted it was fairly spooky hanging around the Servant set while waiting to film his scenes.

"It had a very strange energy, the house," he remembered. "I remember, you feel this real sense of relief whenever you leave it. It's this incredible set. It's a real functioning house that they built in this soundstage.

"It's got a functional toilet, a functional kitchen. But I didn't like being in there – and especially around the doll, which is a very powerful object to be near. You almost wanted to look after it, but you didn't want to be anywhere near it [laughs]. Yeah, it's quite an intense experience."

Yikes, good luck to Rupert and the rest of the cast in that creepy house in season two!
