On a per-share basis, the Seattle-based company said it had net income of 80 cents.
The results fell short of Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of five analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 85 cents per share.
The logistics services provider posted revenue of $2.02 billion in the period, beating Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $1.96 billion.
Expeditors International shares have increased 16% since the beginning of the year, while the Standard & Poor's 500 index has climbed 17%. The stock has risen 24% in the last 12 months.
