MENLO PARK, Calif. (AP) _ Exponent Inc. (EXPO) on Wednesday reported first-quarter earnings of $16.6 million.
On a per-share basis, the Menlo Park, California-based company said it had profit of 61 cents. Earnings, adjusted for pretax gains, came to 39 cents per share.
The engineering and scientific consulting company posted revenue of $84.1 million in the period. Its adjusted revenue was $80.5 million.
Exponent shares have risen slightly since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Wednesday, shares hit $60.35, a rise of 20 percent in the last 12 months.
