SEATTLE (AP) _ F5 Networks Inc. (FFIV) on Wednesday reported fiscal third-quarter profit of $122.7 million.
On a per-share basis, the Seattle-based company said it had net income of $1.99. Earnings, adjusted for stock option expense and amortization costs, were $2.44 per share.
The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of 13 analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $2.38 per share.
The computer networking company posted revenue of $542.2 million in the period, also topping Street forecasts. Nine analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $540 million.
For the current quarter ending in September, F5 expects its per-share earnings to range from $2.61 to $2.64.
The company said it expects revenue in the range of $555 million to $565 million for the fiscal fourth quarter.
F5 shares have risen 34 percent since the beginning of the year, while the Standard & Poor's 500 index has increased slightly more than 6 percent. In the final minutes of trading on Wednesday, shares hit $175.20, an increase of 37 percent in the last 12 months.
