Though he should be dealing with the children in cages down on the border, Donald Trump is busying himself with petty online feud. The president loves being mad online! In fact, that's probably the only thing he's actually good at. This time, he's bickering with Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon.

In a tearful interview this weekend with The Hollywood Reporter, Fallon expressed serious regrets about the now-infamous Donald Trump hair tousle:

“You go, ‘Alright, we get it. I heard you. You made me feel bad. So now what? Are you happy? I’m depressed. Do you want to push me more? What do you want me to do? You want me to kill myself? What would make you happy? Get over it.’” Fallon adds, “I’m sorry. I don’t want to make anyone angry - I never do and I never will. It’s all in the fun of the show. I made a mistake. I’m sorry if I made anyone mad. And, looking back, I would do it differently.”

Because Donald Trump is a big, strong tough guy, he responded to Fallon on Twitter, saying the host "is now whimpering to all that he did the famous “hair show” with me (where he seriously messed up my hair), & that he would have now done it differently because it is said to have 'humanized' me-he is taking heat. He called & said 'monster ratings.' Be a man Jimmy!"

Hmmm okay, lots to unpack here. What's with the parenthetical about his hair? Did Jimmy ruin one of Trump's favorite wigs? Did he disturb whatever species of creature is living in it? And yes, "monster ratings" definitely sounds like something that Jimmy Fallon would call and say, and is definitely not a very bad lie that Donald Trump made up.

Also, what I find interesting here is Donald Trump's nuanced knowledge about the conversation in late night TV. Obviously, he's been following the reactions to the episode and the fallout over the last two years. Considering he's a guy who doesn't even know the words to "God Bless America" or the basics of government, he sure does know a lot about what people think of Jimmy Fallon.

Anyway, in response to Trump's tweet, Fallon said he's making a donation to RAICES is the president's name. RAICES is The Refugee and Immigrant Center for Education and Legal Services, which is currently working to reunite children detained at the boarder with their parents.

Usually, there are no winners in a feud with Donald Trump. Every single time the President talks shit about a world leader or actor or journalist it's an embarrassment to this country as a whole. Yet, Jimmy Fallon turned this embarrassment into action-which is something we can all learn from.
