A fantastic week for AeroVironment, Inc.'s (NASDAQ:AVAV) 85% institutional owners, one-year returns continue to impress

Every investor in AeroVironment, Inc. (NASDAQ:AVAV) should be aware of the most powerful shareholder groups. And the group that holds the biggest piece of the pie are institutions with 85% ownership. Put another way, the group faces the maximum upside potential (or downside risk).

And as as result, institutional investors reaped the most rewards after the company's stock price gained 13% last week. The one-year return on investment is currently 1.2% and last week's gain would have been more than welcomed.

What Does The Institutional Ownership Tell Us About AeroVironment?

Institutions typically measure themselves against a benchmark when reporting to their own investors, so they often become more enthusiastic about a stock once it's included in a major index. We would expect most companies to have some institutions on the register, especially if they are growing.

The definition of company insiders can be subjective and does vary between jurisdictions. Our data reflects individual insiders, capturing board members at the very least.
