New Feature: Upcoming Special Dividends

We are pleased to announce we have added a new feature to our Screeners page: Upcoming Special Dividends.

Definition of a special dividend

Investopedia defines a special dividend as a "nonrecurring distribution of company assets, usually in the form of cash, to shareholders." Such dividends are usually larger than regular dividends and often tied to specific events like asset sales, spinoffs or other windfall events.

Introduction of the page

You can access the Upcoming Special Dividends page by clicking the "Upcoming Special Dividends" item under the Screeners tab. Figure 1 illustrates the location of the item.

Figure 2 illustrates a sample screen shot of the page.

As Figure 2 illustrates, the Upcoming Special Dividends page allows you to view the stocks that are expected to pay a special dividend in the upcoming months. The table lists the stock ticker, company, dividend amount, current price, ex-dividend date, record date, declaration date, market cap and price-earnings ratio.
