Federal Signal names Cooper as its CFO

Federal Signal names Cooper as senior vice president, chief financial officer

OAK BROOK, Ill. (AP) -- Federal Signal has named Brian S. Cooper as senior vice president and chief financial officer.

Cooper will take over for Braden Waverly, who has served as interim CFO since October when it was announced that Bill Barker was leaving the company to become CFO at Trustwave. Federal Signal said Friday that Waverly will remain in his current role until Cooper joins the company.

Cooper previously served as CFO of carrier-class telecommunications equipment provider Westell Technologies Inc. His positions with Federal Signal are effective May 28.

Federal Signal Corp., based in Oak Brook, Ill., makes products ranging from street sweepers to toll booth technology for government, industrial and commercial customers.

Last month the company reported that it returned to a profit in its fourth quarter and its revenue improved.

Its shares finished at $7.73 on Thursday. Its shares have traded in a 52-week range of $4.47 to $8.63.
