ADDISON, Texas (AP) _ Fiesta Restaurant Group Inc. (FRGI) on Monday reported third-quarter net income of $2 million, after reporting a loss in the same period a year earlier.
On a per-share basis, the Addison, Texas-based company said it had profit of 8 cents. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, were 11 cents per share.
The results missed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 19 cents per share.
The owner of Pollo Tropical and Taco Cabana restaurants posted revenue of $174.6 million in the period, surpassing Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $173.5 million.
Fiesta Restaurant Group shares have climbed 31 percent since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Monday, shares hit $24.94, a climb of 48 percent in the last 12 months.
