Fifa 19's incorrect cover has now been fixed, with just weeks before the game's release date.

The game – which arrives in September but has been expected and revealed for months – features Cristiano Ronaldo on its cover. When that cover was first shown off, it featured the striker wearing a Real Madrid shirt.

But Ronaldo then moved to Juventus, making the cover and the artwork surrounding the game a out-of-date. The game's cover – as shown on Amazon, for instance, continued to show him wearing the Real Madrid shirt long after the transfer had been announced and completed.

Now the cover has been changed – simply to photoshop the Juventus kit over the top of the Real Madrid one, without changing the picture at all.

The picture is exactly the same as the previous one, suggesting the Real Madrid shirt has simply been digitally removed and swapped for the Juventus one. It is not clear whether it will be changed again before release.

Producers told The Independent that the Ronaldo transfer had come at a relatively good time, with the rest of the summer still left to make the requisite changes to the game.

But it remains to be seen how sweeping those changes are – the Journey, for instance, depicts star Alex Hunter playing for Real Madrid, and Ronaldo looked set to be a key part of that storyline.
