About Matthew Hansen

Matthew has been a private equity investor for over 20 years, and has focused on the financial services sector throughout his career. Before founding FSC in 2019, he was a Senior Partner and Head of UK & Europe at Atlas Merchant Capital, a financial services private equity firm. Prior to Atlas, Matthew was a Partner & Managing Director responsible for European Private Equity for Cerberus Capital Management. Throughout his time at Atlas and Cerberus, he sat on numerous boards, investment committees, and credit committees of both regulated and unregulated entities, in the US and across Europe. Matthew graduated from the University of Texas with a BBA in Finance, and holds a joint-MBA from Columbia University and London Business School. He started his career in investment banking at Bear Sterns in New York, before moving to LBO PE firm Madison Dearborn Partners in both Chicago and London.
