Fire breaks out at Modine-owned site

RACINE, Wis. (AP) -- Modine Manufacturing Co. said Friday that a "significant" fire has occurred at the headquarters and manufacturing facility of its U.K. subsidiary, Airedale International Air Conditioning.

The company gave no further detail on the fire and said it is unable to determine the full extent of damage at this time.

Modine said all employees are safe and accounted for.

The facility is located in Leeds and has been in operation since 1974. Airedale makes cooling products used in retail settings, clean rooms and more.

Thomas Marry, Modine's executive vice president and chief operating office, thanked officials for acting quickly. He said the company will take all necessary actions to address the needs of its employees and customers as quickly as possible.

Modine, based in Racine, Wis., is a thermal management company. It acquired U.K.-based Airedale in 2005.

Shares of Modine fell 14 cents to close at $13.74 and were unchanged in after-hours trading following the announcement.
