First Eagle Investment's Matthew McLennan to Keynote 2020 GuruFocus Value Conference

First Eagle Investment (Trades, Portfolio) Management's Head of Global Value Matthew McLennan, CFA, will officially headline the 2020 GuruFocus Value Conference in Omaha, for which tickets have now gone on sale.

Matt succeeded legendary investor Jean-Marie Eveillard at the renowned New York-based firm founded more than two centuries ago. Currently, he also serves as portfolio manager of First Eagle's Global, Overseas, US Value and Gold Funds. Before joining the firm in 2008, he held various roles at Goldman Sachs for almost a decade.

Matt's investment philosophy centers on prudent stewardship of his clients' assets and bottom-up, conservative, flexible stock picking focused on absolute returns. He wants companies with strong market positions, sustainable earnings power streams going forward, balance sheet flexibility and focused management teams. Crucial to him is not just impressive returns in a bull market, but performance over a complete market cycle.

As of July 31, Matt's top holdings for the Global Value Fund were gold bullion, Oracle Corp. (NYSE:ORCL), Comcast Corp. (NASDAQ:CMCSA), Exxon Mobil Corp. (NYSE:XOM) and Schlumberger NV (NYSE:SLB). His largest sector allocations were to gold at 13.98%, industrials at 12.54% and financials at 10.41%.

With his depth of insight, investing acumen and vast experience, Matt will give investors exceptional guidance for the market environment ahead. Stay tuned for the topic of his keynote talk.

Matt joins a roster of esteemed keynote speakers to stand behind the GuruFocus podium, including Chuck Royce (Trades, Portfolio), Chuck Akre (Trades, Portfolio), Matt's colleague Jean-Marie Eveillard and Donald Yacktman. The conference has also brought together many other well-known and widely followed investors and fund managers. The complete list for the 2020 conference is shaping up and will be released shortly.

In addition to the fabulous talks, the conference is rounded out with Q&A sessions, several meals and many chances to network with other guests who share your passion for investing. Some of the attendees have joined us every year since we started. Early-bird discounts are still available for a limited time - don't forget to register for the 2020 event here. See you in Omaha!
