BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) _ First Interstate BancSystem Inc. (FIBK) on Thursday reported first-quarter profit of $29.3 million.
The bank, based in Billings, Montana, said it had earnings of 45 cents per share.
The results did not meet Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of five analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 63 cents per share.
First Interstate BancSystem shares have dropped 19% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Thursday, shares hit $33.80, a decrease of 20% in the last 12 months.
