First Kendall, Now Kylie: The Jenners’s Obsession With Neon Green Continues
As far as celebrity trends go, the new year did not start off on a subtle note: defying the Pantone Color of the Year, which is a soft coral, Kendall Jenner kicked off 2019 by wearing a whole lot of neon green instead. As color therapy expert Constance Hart told Vogue’s Liana Satenstein, Jenner’s sudden draw to the acid shade may be a strategic choice, as “this hue can help draw one’s self-confidence, self-esteem, and joy outward.”
Regardless of the why, the model indeed kept fans guessing with recurring sightings in the hue: she wore a Saks Potts coat one day, an off-the-shoulder jumpsuit the next. Now, her sister Kylie Jenner is following in her footsteps by seeing green, too.
Sharing a series of tropical vacation snaps today, Kylie may just be attempting to one-up her sibling by taking the trend to the next level: by executing a well-coordinated outfit snap with not one, but three highlighter outfits. She posed alongside her daughter Stormi and best friend Jordyn Woods, all of them wearing swimsuits in the same blinding shade. Kylie favored a strapless two-piece style, while Stormi and Woods wore traditional one-pieces.
If Kendall’s neon moment was meant to evoke confidence, Kylie’s more-is-more take here is downright fearless. Now, bets are open on who will be next in the Kardashian-Jenner clan to embrace the all-green movement. (Kim Kardashian West, a notorious lover of neon, seems a good guess.)
