Fleetwood Mac make Glastonbury 2020 hints at Wembley show: 'We have a big field to play'
Fleetwood Mac have teased a potential Glastonbury headline performance for next year’s festival.
At their Wembley show on Sunday 16 June, the band’s drummer and co-founder Mick Fleetwood dropped a few hints about the likelihood of an appearance from the “Landslide” legends at Worthy Farm in 2020.
During their performance, Fleetwood made references to the band having “a big field to play”. He also mentioned “a rained-out festival in England next year”, according to tweets by excited fans at the show.
This comes after Fleetwood spoke to The Independent for an exclusive interview about the band’s tumultuous relationship, and his hopes for a Glastonbury performance. “We’ve been asked to play and it’s never worked out,” he said. “I think the legend of Glastonbury and Fleetwood Mac will come true,” he added, joking: “I think I’ll burn in hell if we don’t do it one day.”
Next year will mark Glastonbury’s 50th anniversary, with Paul McCartney rumoured to be among the potential headliners. Stormzy, The Killers and The Cure will headline this year’s festival.
Other performers for Glastonbury 2019 include Janet Jackson, Kylie Minogue, George Ezra, Liam Gallagher, Miley Cyrus, Vampire Weekend, Two Door Cinema Club, Bastille, Christine and the Queens, Hozier, Sigrid, Years & Years, Lauryn Hill, Janelle Monae and Wu-Tang Clan.
