SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwired - Jun 6, 2013) - Flingo (www.flingo.tv), a leading Interactive TV company, today announced online advertising veteran, Jackson Huynh, as its Chief Operating Officer. At Flingo, Mr. Huynh will be responsible for the continued expansion of the Samba TV platform, transforming TV advertising into a dynamic, multi-screen experience.
Samba enables advertisers to build a direct relationship with viewers by synchronizing media on TV as well as second screen devices, like tablets or smartphones. Underlying Samba's platform is Flingo's patented synchronization software, which can identify TV shows and ads within seconds, and immediately make related content available to the consumer. TV viewers will have instant access to great content, such as biographies of their favorite TV personalities, social media conversations happening around TV shows, as well as the ability to engage with advertising or offers on screen. In effect, Samba turns TV into an immersive and personalized experience.
"With the proliferation of DVRs, over-the-top video, second screen apps, there is both great risk and opportunity in the world of advertising. I believe Samba represents a unique opportunity at the intersection of TV and digital advertising, where TV marketers can leverage great technology to enable a cross-platform ad experience, and a strong team at Flingo to guide and execute a cohesive marketing strategy," said Mr. Huynh.
Mr. Huynh brings over a decade of experience in digital advertising. Most recently, he served as the Global Head of AdMob Ad Operations for Google, where he successfully scaled AdMob's core businesses across Google's platforms worldwide. Prior to Google's acquisition of AdMob, Mr. Huynh built and ran the Ad Operations team for the company, where he contributed to the company's rapid revenue growth amidst the smartphone explosion and established the company as the market leader in mobile advertising. Previously, Mr. Huynh worked at Yahoo!, where he held leadership positions in both the client services and product divisions, giving him a deep understanding of the entire digital advertising ecosystem from its infancy.
"Fragmentation is by most measures the single, biggest threat to traditional marketing investments. However, with our patented technologies and Jackson's leadership, we believe multi-screen viewing can become a huge asset and opportunity for the marketing industry," said Ashwin Navin, co-founder and CEO of Flingo. "We have assembled a world-class team across various disciplines to be a trusted partner to our clients."
