“First time I’ve tried it — and I think these placenta encapsulation [pills] are working” the 36-year-old wrote on her Instagram Stories beneath a photo of a pink container of gray placenta pills. Christina enlisted the help of Mommy Made Encapsulation to get this done for her.

The new mom joins other celebrities, like Kim Kardashian and Chrissy Teigen, who also made the decision to consume their placenta after giving birth—in various forms, including in a smoothie or cooked. It’s believed doing so helps battle postpartum depression, although there’s debate surrounding this claim.

Christina and her husband, Ant Anstead, welcomed their first child together on Friday, September 6 after a scheduled C-section, weighing in at 7 pounds, 7 ounces. The HGTV family didn’t skip a beat in congratulating the happy couple while Christina’s best friend, Cassie Zebisch, visited the hospital to hold Hudson for the first time.

According to Mommy Made Encapsulation, the process of having your placenta turned into pills costs $150, takes one to three days, and will make up to 200 pills.
