SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. (AP) _ Fluidigm Corp. (FLDM) on Thursday reported a loss of $14.8 million in its fourth quarter.
The South San Francisco, California-based company said it had a loss of 36 cents per share. Losses, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, were 6 cents per share.
The company that makes equipment to control fluids posted revenue of $32.3 million in the period, which topped Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $30.6 million.
For the year, the company reported that its loss narrowed to $59 million, or $1.49 per share. Revenue was reported as $113 million.
For the current quarter ending in April, Fluidigm said it expects revenue in the range of $28 million to $31 million.
Fluidigm shares have fallen nearly 1 percent since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Thursday, shares hit $8.55, a rise of 47 percent in the last 12 months.
