Ford shuts some North American plants on bad weather

MEXICO CITY, Feb 18 (Reuters) - Ford Motor Co. onThursday said adverse weather had led to the temporary closureof plants in Kansas City, Flat Rock and Ohio, as well as a plantin Hermosillo in the northern Mexican border state of Sonora.

The Kansas City plant's operations have been canceled fromFeb 13-22, the company said in a statement to Reuters.Unseasonably cold weather conditions have caused power outagesand natural gas shortages in southern United States and Mexico,crippling industries.
