At December 31st, 2012, the number of customers of the company’s distribution business stood at 14 million. 17% of these were in Argentina, 43% in Brazil, 12% in Chile, 19% in Colombia and the remaining in Peru.
Conversely, Companhia de Saneamento Basico reported its fourth quarter and full-year 2012 financial results last week. The company posted net operating revenue of R$10.7 billion for 2012, which represents an increase of 8.20% over 2011. Adjusted EBITDA for 2012 rose 12.20% to R$3.6 billion. Net income for 2012 totaled R$1.9 billion, up 56.3% over 2011. The company’s construction revenue for 2012 rose 10.80% over 2011. Gross operating revenue from water supply and sewage collection rose 7.50%. The year-over-year increase was driven by 2.40% increase in water billed volume and by 3.20% increase in sewage billed volume, in 2012.
