The defending Super Bowl champion and incumbent dynasty New England Patriots are huge gambling favorites over the lowly Miami Dolphins this weekend.
Manchester City was even more heavily favored in their game. And they lost.
Norwich City jumped out to an early lead and Teemu Pukki’s goal shortly after halftime proved to be decisive in a 3-2 win over the two-time defending Premier League champions.
Norwich entered the match as +1800 underdogs on the money line at Caesars Sportsbook, according to ESPN’s Ben Fawkes, and closed in that neighborhood with other shops too. For reference, the Dolphins are just +1200, per Fawkes.
The money line only involves picking the winner and loser, not point spreads, which means fans would have made $1,800 for every $100 bet on Norwich.

After Kenny McLean’s snap header opened the scoring for Norwich, Pukki cut back to Todd Cantwell for a 2-0 lead inside of half an hour.
Sergio Aguero split the advantage right before the break, but Pukki re-established it in the 50th minute after Emi Buendía pickpocketed an unaware Nicolas Otamendi and played a clever pass:
Rodri gave City hope in the 88th minute, but they left the equalizer on the pitch.
This is the second time in five PL matches City’s failed to win, which might be costly if Liverpool replicates its blistering form of a year ago. So far the Reds are the only English side with five wins from five, against admittedly so-so competition.
One of those wins was against freshly promoted Norwich, which will be celebrating this one long into the night. As they should, because performances like this against the league’s best will go a long way toward sealing a stay in the top flight.
