Former Omaha State Bank executive won't face charges for bringing handgun to the office
OMAHA, Neb. (AP) -- Prosecutors have decided not to file charges against the former president of Omaha State Bank who brought his new gun to work in November to show it to a friend.
Douglas County Attorney Don Kleine told The Omaha World-Herald (http://bit.ly/WTfdgZ ) that he won't file charges against Michael Dahir because the bank vice president who filed the complaint doesn't want to pursue the case.
The gun incident happened after the bank closed. Dahir had just picked up a new 9mm handgun that he'd purchased, and he brought it inside the bank to show it off.
Bank vice president Karen Cenovic told police she felt threatened by Dahir's actions.
Dahir lost his job as bank president after the gun incident although his attorney said it wasn't the only factor in his departure.
