Former theater student of Kevin Spacey says he had sexual relationship with actor at age 14

Following his controversial coming-out statement, Kevin Spacey has been accused of sexual misconduct by other men.

Spacey’s message to “live as a gay man” was originally in response to actor Anthony Rapp accusing him of unwanted sexual advances when he was 14 years old.

Now, in a new interview with Vulture, another man says he was involved in a sexual relationship with Spacey when he too was 14 years old. The relationship eventually soured, the man says, after Spacey allegedly tried to rape him.

The man chose to remain anonymous to protect his and his current partner’s privacy but revealed that he was a former acting student of Spacey’s in the early ’80s.

He said, “I went to Saturday acting classes in Westchester County, outside of New York, around 1981. … I was 12, and [Spacey] taught at the school, maybe just for half a year. He wasn’t a known person at that time.”

Nothing inappropriate happened between the student and Spacey during those classes, but a few years later, the two bumped into each other. Spacey gave the man, then 14 years old, his number and invited him to his apartment in New York.

He said, “I went and saw him at an apartment he was renting on the Upper West Side. … We started a sexual relationship that first visit…”

The man saw Spacey “three or four more times” before the alleged attack took place. He was visiting Spacey’s apartment when, he claims, the actor suddenly tried to force himself on him. He told Vulture, “He must have come up behind me and yanked down my baggy jeans … and I’m like, ‘No, I don’t want to.’ And he pushes hard, and grabs me. … I throw him off of me, and I run crying down the stairs and out into the street.”

Kevin Spacey’s lawyer replied to Vulture about the relationship in an email: “Mr. Spacey absolutely denies the allegations.”

Spacey’s former student spoke with Vulture because he was upset with the actor’s response to Rapp’s accusations. And he didn’t pull any punches when describing what he claims Spacey did, saying, “I would call him a pedophile and a sexual predator. … When you look at his statement, you realize also he’s profoundly narcissistic. He thinks this is about being caught that he’s gay.”
