NEW YORK (AP) _ Fox Corp. (FOXA) on Wednesday reported fiscal second-quarter profit of $300 million.
On a per-share basis, the New York-based company said it had net income of 48 cents. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring gains, came to 10 cents per share.
The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of five analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 4 cents per share.
The TV broadcasting company posted revenue of $3.78 billion in the period.
Fox shares have climbed 4% since the beginning of the year, while the Standard & Poor's 500 index has climbed 3%.
