In the following excerpt from the Metals and Mining Report, the President, CEO and Director of Energold Drilling Corp. (EGD.V) discusses company strategy and the outlook for this vital industry:

TWST: As a business strategy, what role will M&A continue to play for Energold?

Mr. Davidson: As we have been discussing, mergers and acquisitions really have changed our company in the last few years, and we have proven we can do it well. Our strategy remains focused on bolt-on acquisitions rather than transformative, at this point, where we're out to acquire people and markets. Drill rigs we can build, likely more uniform and efficient for our own uses. Further, with the acquisition of Dando engineering, we can build rigs as big as you want to build them for mining, water and technical, in addition to our portable modular rigs.

This allows us to service any market we want to service, but what we need is talent. With mining in a bit of a slowdown, drilling industry if not faring much better as drilling is a leading indicator for the sector; a canary in a coal mine, if you will. With a strong commitment to the sector and the treasury to support this, this has allowed us to pick and choose and not to pay the premiums talent in the past, but be selective about the talent that we want for the future.

TWST: Across your various drilling services, what are the key channels to reach customers, and how are those channels changing?
