NORWALK, Conn. (AP) _ Frontier Communications Corp. (FTR) on Monday reported a loss of $80 million in its fourth quarter.
The Norwalk, Connecticut-based company said it had a loss of 12 cents per share. Losses, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, were 4 cents per share.
The results did not meet Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of eight analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 3 cents per share.
The broadband, voice and wireless internet access provider posted revenue of $2.41 billion in the period, which also fell short of Street forecasts. Five analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $2.5 billion.
For the year, the company reported that its loss widened to $373 million, or 51 cents per share. Revenue was reported as $8.9 billion.
In the final minutes of trading on Monday, the company's shares hit $3.29. A year ago, they were trading at $5.31.
