Frontier Communications repays debt

STAMFORD, Conn. (AP) -- Frontier Communications Corp. said Monday that it repaid $502.7 million in debt earlier this month.

The company, which provides broadband, voice and wireless Internet access, made the payment on its 6.25 percent senior notes on Jan. 15, the day they were due. Frontier said it used cash on hand for the payment.

Frontier shares rose 3 cents to $4.49 in morning trading.
