It’s never too early to look forward to bowl season.

Even though it’s seven months down the road, ESPN unveiled the television schedule for the 2018-19 bowl slate on Wednesday. The festivities begin with five games on Saturday, Dec. 15 and additional games scattered throughout the following week.

Four more games will be played the following Saturday (Dec. 22) before a few days without games over the Christmas holiday. Notably, the Hawaii Bowl, which was played on Christmas Eve in 13 of the last 14 seasons, has been moved up to the 22nd.

The games resume after Christmas with the two College Football Playoff semifinals — the Orange Bowl and Cotton Bowl — on Saturday, Dec. 29. The other New Year’s Six bowl games will be played on Jan. 1 before the CFP title game is played the following Monday, Jan. 7.

The nine days from semifinal to title game is different than the weeklong gap from the previous two seasons, but it’s not as long as the inaugural CFP season where the semifinals were played on Dec. 31 and the title game was played on Jan. 11.
