Gadsden council members named to seven standing city committees

As the new administration takes shape at Gadsden City Hall, appointments were approved for the seven standing committees for different divisions of city concern.

Council President Kent Back said each council member chairs a committee, serves as vice chair on another, and is a member of a third.

The committees and council members appointed are:

  • General Administration: Chair, Steve Smith; vice chair, Dixie Minatra; member, Jason Wilson

  • Finance: Chair, Larry Avery; vice chair, Kent Back; member, Dixie Minatra

  • Education/Recreation: Chair, Tonya Latham; vice chair, Steve Smith; member, Chris Robinson

  • Community Development: Chair, Chris Robinson; vice chair, Tonya Latham; member, Kent Back

  • Intergovernmental Relations: Chair, Kent Back; vice chair, Jason Wilson; member, Larry Avery

  • Public Safety: Chair, Jason Wilson; vice chair, Chris Robinson; member, Kent Back

  • Public Works: Chair, Dixie Minatra; vice chair, Larry Avery; member, Tonya Latham
