LOUISVILLE, Colo. (AP) _ Gaiam Inc. (GAIA) on Monday reported a loss of $6.7 million in its first quarter.
The Louisville, Colorado-based company said it had a loss of 38 cents per share. Losses, adjusted to account for discontinued operations, came to 36 cents per share.
The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 48 cents per share.
The lifestyle media company posted revenue of $12.5 million in the period.
Gaiam shares have decreased 11% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Monday, shares hit $9.27, a drop of 38% in the last 12 months.
