MILWAUKEE (AP) _ Gardner Denver Holdings Inc. (GDI) on Tuesday reported first-quarter profit of $47.1 million.
On a per-share basis, the Milwaukee-based company said it had profit of 23 cents. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs and stock option expense, were 38 cents per share.
The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of six analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 34 cents per share.
The maker of flow control and compression equipment posted revenue of $620.3 million in the period, also beating Street forecasts. Five analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $598.6 million.
Gardner Denver shares have increased 59% since the beginning of the year. The stock has increased 2% in the last 12 months.
