PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) -- Gas prices in Rhode Island have fallen a penny but remain significantly higher than the national average.
The latest survey by AAA Southern New England released Monday says the average cost of a gallon of regular, self-serve in Rhode Island is $3.75, a nickel lower than a month ago.
The local price is 21 cents higher than the per-gallon national average of $3.54.
The average in Rhode Island a year ago at this time was $3.81 per gallon.
The AAA survey found a low of $3.65 per gallon to a high of $3.94.
