JASPER, Ind. (AP) _ German American Bancorp Inc. (GABC) on Monday reported second-quarter profit of $14.3 million.
The bank, based in Jasper, Indiana, said it had earnings of 54 cents per share.
The results beat Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 35 cents per share.
The financial services holding company posted revenue of $56 million in the period. Its revenue net of interest expense was $50.9 million, also exceeding Street forecasts. Four analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $48.9 million.
German American Bancorp shares have decreased 18% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Monday, shares hit $29.14, a drop of 3% in the last 12 months.
