Gesa Credit Union Announces Management Promotions
RICHLAND, WA--(Marketwire - Jan 8, 2013) - Gesa Credit Union is pleased to share the news of four individuals who have accepted promotions and new responsibilities at the $1.2 billion credit union. These four individuals have consistently been recognized for their dedication and contributions to Gesa and will oversee the credit union's efforts in Mortgage Lending, Finance, Electronic Services, and Regulatory Compliance.
Randy Wacker - Vice President, Mortgage Lending
Gesa Credit Union has promoted Randy Wacker to Vice President, Mortgage Lending, where he will oversee the credit union's mortgage operations including origination, operations, underwriting, and secondary marketing. He will also continue his service on the credit union's Assets and Liabilities Committee, Member Business Loan Committee, and as a member of the Leadership Team.
Wacker most recently served Gesa as the Assistant Vice President of Mortgage Lending. In less than three years, he grew the credit union's mortgage origination volume to become the second largest market share in the region. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration with a minor in Economics from Eastern Washington University. He is an active member of the Tri-Cities Optimist Club, and the Foundation Board for the Carousel of Dreams Presented by Gesa.
Richard Waddle - Vice President, Finance and Controller
Gesa has also promoted Richard Waddle to Vice President, Finance and Controller, where he will oversee the credit union's accounting and finance functions. He will also continue his service on the credit union's Assets and Liabilities Committee, and as a member of the Leadership Team.
Waddle most recently served Gesa as the Controller. During his time in this position, he supervised a team of financial analysts, accountants, and accounting clerks. He holds a Master of Business Administration from Washington State University. He is an active member of the Credit Union National Association's CFO Council.
Jeff Gegen - Vice President, eServices
With plans to grow and expand electronic service offerings, Gesa Credit Union has promoted Jeff Gegen to Vice President, eServices, where he will oversee the credit union's eServices product and service offerings, Card Services Department, and operations support teams. He will lead the credit union's deposit product and eServices committees while also serving as a member of the credit union's Leadership Team.
Gegen brings twenty-four years of experience to his new position, including past experience leading compliance and operations efforts at large regional banks in Walla Walla and Aberdeen, Washington. He previously served Gesa as the Assistant Vice President of Operations. He currently lives in Walla Walla, Washington where he is an active volunteer on the Walla Walla Planning Commission, and the Walla Walla Catholic School Board.
Jerry Sims - Senior Vice President, Operations; Compliance Officer; Bank Secrecy Act Officer
Longtime Gesa executive Jerry Sims has accepted new responsibilities in his position as Senior Vice President of Operations. He has been designated as the credit union's Compliance Officer and Bank Secrecy Act Officer. As the Compliance Officer, he will oversee all of the credit union's various compliance programs.
During his career at Gesa, Jerry Sims has worked in marketing, branch management, card services, and operations. He first joined the credit union in 1978.
