Giants will not pursue trade for Deshaun Watson, fully committed to Daniel Jones: report

Don't expect to see Deshaun Watson wearing Giants threads any time soon, as Big Blue is fully committed to Daniel Jones and will not pursue a trade for another quarterback, ESPN's Jordan Raanan reports.

Speaking on the Breaking Big Blue Podcast, Raanan said “This isn’t just my opinion anymore — this is confirmed. The Giants are not going to be in on Deshaun Watson or any other quarterback. Daniel Jones is their guy. Book that.”

Dave Gettleman and Joe Judge have previously voiced their commitment to Jones, but it now seems to be set in stone.

As SNY's Ralph Vacchiano has previously reported, even if the Giants wanted to trade for Watson, they don't have the same type of draft capital or young, inexpensive talent — like the Jets have — to send to the Texans that other teams have.

Acquiring Watson would also decimate the Giants' salary cap, considering they already will likely need to cut a couple of players in order to have some space for the upcoming offseason.

Simply put, the Giants just don’t have the chips to realistically get it done.
