GM debuts electric Cadillac

The top U.S. carmaker introduced its Cadillac ELR, which has the same battery and gas-powered generator as the Chevy Volt, but with features designed to appeal to upscale buyers. General Motors (GM) added angular lights and fenders, like new Cadillacs. But it also has a sloped aerodynamic look and a plush interior that differentiates it from Volt. The plug-in electric ELR will hit showrooms in early '14 in N. America. It will be priced higher than Volt, GM said, which starts at $31,645.
