PITTSBURGH (AP) -- GNC Holdings Inc. said Wednesday that it has acquired Discount Supplements, an Internet sports supplements seller in the United Kingdom, to help it grow internationally.
The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
GNC, a nutritional supplement retailer based in Pittsburgh, does not expect the deal to affect its earnings in 2013.
Discount Supplements, or A1 Sports Ltd., was founded in 2004 and is expected to generate revenue of about 20 million pounds, or about $32 million, this year. It operates the website discount-supplements.co.uk.
GNC has more than 8,300 physical stores and sells its products through multiple websites.
Its shares fell 95 cents, or 1.7 percent, to close at $54.70 Wednesday .
