The Goddard School Kicks Off 6th Annual Nationwide Root For Earth Campaign

More Than 50,000 Preschoolers Create Eco-Friendly Projects In Support Of A Greener Planet Earth

KING OF PRUSSIA, PA / ACCESSWIRE / April 19, 2016 / The Goddard School®, the nation's premier preschool franchise system focusing on learning through play for children from six weeks to six years old, announces their 6th annual Root for Earth campaign, a week-long celebration promoting environmental responsibility. With more than 440 Goddard School preschools across the nation participating, Root for Earth teaches children, families and their communities the significance of ecological and energy conservation.

During Root for Earth, preschoolers from The Goddard School will engage in a range of activities such as planting gardens, hosting recycled fashion shows, building robots from recycled materials and other eco-friendly projects inspired by S.T.E.A.M. (science, technology, engineering, art and math). Their creations will be shared on The Goddard School National Facebook Page where the public can vote for their favorite project from May 9 through May 13. Winners will be announced on Monday, May 16.

Additionally, a signature of the Root for Earth campaign appropriately named "Lights Out!" will take place on Earth Day, Friday, April 22. Every Goddard School across the country will shut off all non-essential lighting for an hour beginning at 10 a.m. local time.

"Root for Earth gives us the opportunity to immerse The Goddard School children in hands-on learning about the well-being of our Earth," said Dr. Craig Bach, Vice President of Education at Goddard Systems, Inc. "Throughout the week, children are guided through activities that help them discover creative solutions that aide in the preservation of our planet and its wonders."

The Goddard School's year-round curriculum integrates environmental responsibility, meanwhile the Root for Earth campaign is a week that provides children with the opportunity to exercise all of their learnings through activities that help protect a healthy, happy Earth for years to come.
