Goodbye Scissors: Electrolux(R) BRUSHROLLCLEAN Technology Gets Rid of Tangled Hair With the Push of a Button

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Sep 27, 2012) -

Editors note: There are two photos and one video associated with this press release.

Electrolux® is introducing Canadians to revolutionary new technology that eliminates an age old problem: having to cut hair tangled around a vacuum''s brush roll with a pair of scissors. BRUSHROLLCLEAN™ Technology - being launched in Canada on the Ergorapido, the world''s best-selling stick vacuum cleaner - removes messy tangled hair in seconds with the push of a button located on the head of the vacuum.

"BRUSHROLLCLEAN™ Technology is a simple but inspired innovation that will one day make you wonder how you ever got by without it," said Andrew Santoni, Marketing Manager for Electrolux® Home Care Products. "It''s easy, keeps vacuum performance high, and simply eliminates the annoying task of cleaning your vacuum''s brush roll."

The new Ergorapido 2-in-1 with BRUSHROLLCLEAN™ Technology works by pressing a pedal on top of the nozzle so that a blade removes all entwined hairs and fibres, cutting them into small pieces and sucking them into the dust cup. Electrolux® will begin introducing its BRUSHROLLCLEAN™ Technology on other models in the coming months.

"The world''s most welcome innovations often solve life''s most mundane problems - and there is nothing more mundane that having to unclog tangled hair from a vacuum''s messy brush roll," said Santoni. "Our new BRUSHROLLCLEAN™ Technology whisks clogged pet and human hair away conveniently in just seconds."

The Ergorapido with BRUSHROLLCLEAN™ Technology includes a detachable hand vacuum with a crevice and dusting brush, allowing for switching quickly from floors to counters and corners. Taking up less room than two devices, the Ergorapido is rechargeable so the user is not inhibited by cords. Ergorapido''s innovative design includes a bagless 12 volt motor to provide plenty of cleaning power in a vacuum that is still light and easy to maneuver at 5.3 lbs.

The Electrolux Ergorapido with BRUSHROLLCLEAN™ Technology sells for $149.99 at chain and independent retailers across Canada. Locations can be found online at Electrolux.ca.
