GoPro: 3Q Earnings Snapshot

SAN MATEO, Calif. (AP) _ GoPro Inc. (GPRO) on Thursday reported a third-quarter loss of $27.1 million, after reporting a profit in the same period a year earlier.

The San Mateo, California-based company said it had a loss of 19 cents per share. Losses, adjusted for non-recurring costs and stock option expense, were 4 cents per share.

The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of six analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 7 cents per share.

The action video camera maker posted revenue of $285.9 million in the period, which also topped Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $271.9 million.

GoPro shares have decreased 5 percent since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Thursday, shares hit $7.18, a drop of 33 percent in the last 12 months.
