SCOTTSDALE, AZ--(Marketwired - April 24, 2013) -  GPS Insight, the leading technology provider of GPS fleet tracking software, has partnered with Garmin, the global leader in satellite navigation, to provide support for the fleet 590 connected fleet management device within its award-winning platform. The portable GPS device combines tracking capabilities for fleet management and the simplicity of Garmin navigation. GPS Insight has been selected by Garmin to integrate with the fleet 590 as it becomes commercially available soon.

Now fleet managers can purchase one device that does both tracking and navigation instead of purchasing two separate devices. Since the fleet 590 is portable and does not require a direct hard wiring to the vehicle, all professional installation costs and customer downtime are eliminated.

The fleet 590 integrates a black box, cable, and antenna. The 5-inch touch display and Garmin's intuitive navigation interface make it easy to see driving-related information at a glance, helping to limit driver interaction. The device plugs into the cigarette lighter for easy transfer from vehicle to vehicle. The fleet 590 detects driver behavior and allows the fleet manager to assess the driver's safety characteristics and driving habits. Based off the embedded 3-axis accelerometer within the device, speeding, excessive braking, jack-rabbiting and sharp turning can be logged.

Robert Donat, Founder and CEO of GPS Insight, said, "We are thrilled to be working with Garmin to bring their fleet 590 device to market and utilize it within GPS Insight's award winning Fleet Tracking Platform. The ease of installation, reliability and accuracy of the Garmin, and compelling price point will make it a great choice for many fleets choosing to track their fleet, as well as automate dispatch and communications to their drivers."

"The Garmin fleet 590 is our first portable and connected fleet management GPS that combines the necessities of fleet management with the simplicity of Garmin navigation," said Chad Sallman, Business Development Manager for commercial solutions at Garmin. "We're pleased to partner with GPS Insight to integrate this device into their powerful telematics framework to provide a comprehensive fleet management solution."
